Real Estate—Gift of Personal Residence or Farm with Retained Life Estate

Detailed Description

How It Works

  1. Transfer title to personal residence or farm to the UW Foundation

  2. The UW Foundation allows you (and spouse) to remain in residence for life

  3. You (and spouse) occupy and maintain residence

  4. The UW Foundation uses or sells property after your death(s)

Benefits

  • No out-of-pocket cost for substantial gift to the UW Foundation

  • Federal income-tax deduction for remainder value of your residence or farm

  • You (and spouse) can occupy residence for life
